Our client in the Waste Management Service industry is URENTLY looking to fill a Regional Logistics Manager role in Port Elizabeth.
Duties:
Strategic Direction
- Develop a realistic and attainable strategic business plan (i.e. Strategy, Marketing, Sales plans and budgets) that defines operational goals and profitability objectives.
- Interpreting organisational strategic objectives to develop and formulate appropriate marketing, business strategies and directives to ensure the attainment of organisational objectives
- Ensure that the strategy is signed off by Operations Director.
- Effectively communicate the strategic direction to the HODs and staff
- Ensure that aggregate functional results meet or exceed targets.
- Ensure timeous, accurate and compliant reporting to Operations Managers.
- Ensure adherence to relevant compliance regulations and legislation i.e occupational health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Ensure that audit targets are achieved.
Financial Control
- Lead, the effective management of the functional areas to maximize financial performance while upholding quality standards and maximizing levels of guest satisfaction.
- Actively manage finances, budgets and related accounting systems by ensuring the appropriate financial controls are in place and maintained to control overheads and expenditure, manage cash flow and ensure profitability.
- Liaise with suppliers for purchase of supplies and formalizing of contractual commitments through the establishment and maintenance of sound procurement processes and stock management.
- Accurate and timeous reporting to Head Office on agreed deadlines, which clearly explain operational effectiveness, trends and variances.
- Ensuring that pro-active treasury, management accounting and financial management practices are adhered to
- Managing and controlling the expenditure of all branches and operations according to financial procedures to minimise expenditure.
Sales Execution
- In conjunction with the Sales Director, maximize revenue by developing and monitoring the annual sales, marketing and revenue management plans, and participating in appropriate sales and marketing efforts.
- Oversee the sales and marketing activities on the property.
- Develop and implement brand standards that support the achievement property goals and objectives.
People Management
- Manage and oversee HR initiatives, including the recruitment, induction, remuneration, development, succession and training of all staff according to business demands and relevant policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance to relevant legislation: including BCEA, LRA, EE Act.
- Develop a relevant training plan that is aligned to strategic direction and competency requirements, e.g. skills shortages, succession plans etc.
- Motivate and give direction to all employees.
Operations
- Ensuring the development of a high quality and sustainable plant that meets the suppliers and company’s needs
- Continuously evaluating organisational requirements to ensure the attainment of organisational objectives
- Auditing all procedures and practices according to organisational requirements and sound operational practice to ensure maximum control, accountability and service levels to all stakeholders and clients
- Issuing new directives and changed procedures to ensure operational and process efficiencies and control are maintained
- Implementing, monitoring and evaluating projects as well as facilitating project teams to ensure effective and efficient utilisation of resources
- Attending meetings on both internal and external communication committees
Experience and Qualifications:
- Degree in logistics
- MBA
- Operations, services and activities of a comprehensive Waste Management Operations.
- Principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation.
