About Serato

About the role
We are currently looking for a highly organised Design Researcher, to join our team. This is a hands-on role to help Serato research, design and test world leading software products. Working closely with the Product Designers and Product Owners, your role is to help the team understand our users, design the right thing and then design the thing, right.
You will be working on our flagship products Serato DJ and our newer production tools Serato Studio and Serato Sample, as well as our website, checkout and account management system.
As our Design Researcher you will be expected to drive and oversee activities such as:
- Identifying design problems and working with the team to devise solutions through prototyping.
- Planning and implementing user research, design research (prototype testing) and usability testing with support from the Head of Experience.
- Documenting and presenting research findings through reports, presentations or workshops.
- Conducting co-design and design thinking workshops
- Running surveys and reporting on their findings
- Translating concepts into user flows, wireframes and prototypes.
- Assisting with post launch analysis of ideas and products
- Researching, analysing and developing user profiles / personas
You will employ a strong understanding of UX best practices, self directed research and 'keeping up' on industry trends, and most importantly, be an advocate for UX and design thinking across all Serato business units.
Essential skills for this role:
- Someone who has worked within a cross discipline design and development team
- Proficiency in Figma, Miro or similar prototyping and collaboration tools
- Proven experience in conducting usability tests
- Proven experience in conducting primary research i.e empathy interviews, and synthesising insights
- Strong written and presentation skills
- Experience in planning and managing your own projects
- Experience in creating and running surveys
- Experience with designing for web and mobile
- Interaction design skills such as wireframing, user flows, customer journey mapping
- Experience in designing complex apps would be advantageous
- Knowledge and appreciation of a wide range of music
- Understanding of music production techniques, and or DJing
