Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity


The NZFGCS is a national service and is part of the Te Whatu Ora National Bowel Screening Programme (NBSP) strategy, providing assessment, diagnosis, management advice and care for those individuals and families who have a familial predisposition to gastrointestinal cancers. The national office is based in Auckland hosted by Te Toka Tumai with other offices in Wellington and Christchurch. In this role, providing clinical administrator support contributes to the overall successful management of the patient caseload for the service.

We have a fantastic opportunity available, for an initiative-taking, enthusiastic and experienced individual to provide excellent day to day administrative support to the team. This role is based in our Christchurch office.

Full-time (40 hours), permanent role Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm

In this full-time role your amazing attention to detail, organisation skills and superb communication skills are needed to provide effective and efficient administration support including clinical transcription, mail management, referral processing and regional administration leave cover. This role involves speaking with clinical staff and patients, conversations must be managed in a sensitive and empathetic manner.

As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement this role has been mapped to National Band 4/Profile 4A

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

Given the importance of this role, we are seeking someone who has at least 2 years of healthcare administration experience alongside excellent MS Office skills, in particular advanced Outlook and Word.

You will have a basic understanding of medical terminology and experience working in a hospital setting. You are described as someone who is a collaborator, professional and hardworking, who brings a cheerful outlook to all that you do.
