You are responsible to provide specialized knowledge for assigned planning functions including Aircraft Maintenance Program development, detailed task card development, IT system update on engineering documents and hard-time components, work scope definition, maintenance plans preparation, control of check layovers, and managing of aircraft defects with a view to optimize resources, minimize costs and ensure airworthiness.
Some of the tasks include:
- Develop, evolve and amend Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP) for each aircraft type operated by Qatar Airways based on aircraft manufacturer, in-service experience and QCAA (Qatar Civil Aviation Authority) requirements. Effectively liaise with all relevant stakeholders to resolve issues related to the AMP.
- Develop technically complex maintenance task cards and define all necessary requirements/details, for tasks originating from AMP, Base Deferred Defects and Engineering documents for effective implementation. Ensure timely revision of instruction cards based on periodic review of aircraft maintenance manual revisions and/or other originating documents.
- Develop detailed modification plan for high profile and critical campaign modifications or tasks (e.g. reliability modifications, software loading) and prepare a component staggering plan for QR fleet.
- Review content of maintenance work packages and prepare a detailed implementation plan (sequencing, splitting, project plans,etc).
- Monitor, control, and adjust (where necessary) the maintenance check plans based on day to day actual work progress and highlight any significant deviation from the plan.
- Review Base inputs in case of AOGs (Aircraft ON Ground), check layover extensions due to inspection findings, new Aircraft delivery delays, and operational disruptions. Workout the revised plans meeting AMP interval requirements as well as maintenance constraints with an aim to maintain integrity of flight schedule.
- Setup and maintain in the IT system the mapping of all serialized components listed in Aircraft Delivery document and original equipment manufacturers’ document. Ensure that all serialized components are setup and maintained in the IT system during aircraft induction and ensure the timely update of all serialized component transactions in the IT system during the entire operational life of the aircraft.

- Minimum 4 years of job-related experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline OR hold an ICAO type II License
- 2 years of experience in Planning as EN.01 and holds a company authorisation for Planning staff
- General knowledge of Aircraft Systems, Maintenance Environment contraints and Cabin IFE
- Project management and execution
- Good technical report writing skills
- Strong analytical skills to handle complex operational situations
- Excellent command of the English language, both verbally and in writing
