The qualified candidate will implement the applications of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) methods in a Military environment for the control of Insects, Rodents, Feral Animals and certain vegetation. The application for EPA Registered and DoD Approved products for the control and prevention of insects and certain vegetation will be done on an as-needed basis. Position will require the tracking, trapping, and transportation of feral animals (Jackals, Foxes, Wild Dogs, Cats, etc…)
Pest control specialist will be dealing with emphasis on filth flies, rodents, and ants, mosquito and sand fly infestations pose problems at many sites.
Knowledge of snake, scorpion, bird, and weed control is a plus. Position requires some heavy lifting and some night work. Monitoring good sanitation practices through inspection is also a daily tasking. Inspects buildings, land, and surroundings for infestation. Sprays chemicals, lays poisonous bait, sets mechanical traps, or any other needed treatment to fix pest problems. May clean areas that harbor pests to prepare area for fumigation. Ensures all work locations have an effective Integrated Pest Management plan in place and adequate inventories. Makes certain that customer satisfaction is achieved with services provided. Performs routine assigned tasks from instructions, established guidelines, and procedures. Possesses awareness of a multitude of equipment to eliminate pests using HSE guidelines. May perform light to heavy duties related to treatment, casing, and removal of harmful pests. Prepares and submits reports as required by work instructions and other applicable contract requirements.
- Candidate must have valid DoD Certification with Categories 6, 7 and 8; or a valid states Certified Applicators License with the DoD equivalent.
- Computer skills include a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Driver’s License for light vehicle is required.
- Must be fluent in English.
- Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 15 months of remaining validity AND with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining.
