To provide high quality and effective administrative support to health professionals and customer service to mental health consumers and their family members and supports within the triage service of the Mental Health & AODS Division.
About the Team
Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service
The Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service Division (MHAODSD) provides services across the age spectrum from child and adolescent, adult and older persons and a range of specialist services including consultation liaison, forensic, court liaison and a mobile intensive rehabilitation team. The service supports the recovery of people with mental illness through the provision of recovery focussed services and consumer and carer services in collaboration with primary and private health providers and our non-Government partners.
Community based mental health services are located at Mackay, Proserpine and Moranbah. The Mental Health Inpatient Unit located at the Mackay Base Hospital has 24 beds.
The Alcohol and Other Drug Service (AODS) provides evidence-based treatments including opioid maintenance, substance withdrawal management, and counselling.
Mackay Hospital and Health Service has six hospitals, two multi-purpose health services and four community health centres that employ more than 3,300 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
