Position Summary:
We are currently looking for a highly competent Global Procurement Manager based in our Global Procurement HUB in Kuala Lumpur MY, responsible for supporting the global commercial and strategic sourcing activity of the Processing Equipment category (Coffee, Confectionery and Food Categories) for the Nestlé manufacturing operations worldwide.
Reporting directly to the Global Category Manager for Processing Equipment, you will be responsible for defining and implementing the category strategy for the CAPEX and OPEX technical spend in scope on a global level by using strategic sourcing processes, tools and policies, as well as working closely with the global Nestle Technical Competence Centers and R&D functions to drive the implementation of the category strategy, support innovation and drive standardization processes.

A Day in the Life of a Global Procurement Manager – Processing Equipment:

  • Support the Global Category Manager in defining the category strategy for the spend scope on a global level, and implement it by using Strategic Sourcing processes, tools and policies and by working closely with the business and technical stakeholders.
  • Take the lead on sourcing projects for capital investments in the Coffee, Food and Confectionery processing equipment categories, and drive Total Delivered Cost (TDC) reduction, as well as identify and mitigate risks to ensure supply.
  • Manage the relationship with various global, regional and local stakeholders to integrate the spend category strategy.
  • Perform supplier market/category/supply risk analysis and develop Total Cost Ownership (TCO) models to identify improvement opportunities and implement them. Create a competitive environment for Nestlé’s scale.
  • Build on synergies between the various Nestle factories’ needs, directing all the potential efforts to obtain the best opportunities for cost optimization and value creation.
  • Introduce / develop new suppliers in close cooperation with the validating technical stakeholders.
  • Negotiate contracts ensuring the most beneficial commercial agreements with suppliers in line with the strategy.
  • Manage and lead supplier relations with key strategic suppliers under the category’s scope.
  • Ensure compliance to Nestlé's Corporate Business Principles, policies, and standards.


What will make you successful:

  • 5-10 years of experience in sourcing, supplier management and strategic procurement, ideally with a regional or global scope.
  • Strong flexibility and mental agility to work in a cross-functional and multicultural environment in a highly complex global organization.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, and externally with suppliers worldwide.
  • Demonstrate successful use of effective category sourcing, TCO modelling, risk management, responsible sourcing, and supplier relationship management.
  • Previous exposure to manufacturing/ engineering / machinery procurement will be an asset.
  • People oriented and collaborative ways of working.
  • University degree in either Engineering, Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Economics or Finance.
  • High fluency in English, other languages will be an asset.
